Improving Information Quality Management Using Caldea

The main aim of this paper is to show how a framework to assess and improve data and information quality management has been applied to an organization. The framework consists of two elements: a model for data and information quality management (CALDEA) and an assessment and improvement methodology (EVAMECAL) which uses CALDEA as a reference. An underlying concept to apply the framework is the Information Management Process (IMP), which allows us to model how data (raw material) is transformed into information (data products). The idea is to identify the IMP, and then, using CALDEA as the reference point, assess and improve the process by applying EVAMECAL.
